CastOff

A chain game. Someone names a movie the last actor was in, someone names an actor from that movie, and on it goes until somebody cannot.

CastOff is non-commercial and carries no advertising, which is a condition of TMDB's free licensing tier rather than a stylistic choice.

How a round works

• The app opens each round with a seed actor. Nobody scores for that.
• With an odd number of players a turn is one pick. With an even number it is two - a movie, then an actor from it - so that everybody gets both jobs.
• Break the chain and you lose a point. Whoever set the trap gains one.
• Actors only count if they are among the top 15 billed in a film. Bit parts and one-scene cameos do not link.
• Repeating something already used, naming someone billed too far down, or picking something that would leave the next player no legal move, is refused rather than punished. Your timer keeps running.
